We took a bumper workforce of twenty three volunteers to Fenbridge, for our first task of the year. Such was the turnout that I did’t get photos of everyone, and all the activities!
Our primary task was to cut down brush and small trees along a stretch of fenceline, which we then burned. Team Craske overcame the high winds to get the bonfire going, which meant we could clear everything we cut down, along with a large pile of overgrowth generated by another group. Additionally, a few of us worked to maintain a fence further around the field.
We endured some cold and windy conditions for a while, but once the weather calmed down, we had a pleasant afternoon, and could reflect on the contribution we made.
We also welcomed three new volunteers, and a new Assistant Ranger – Matt – out with us. They saw us at our best on the day, and we look forward to them joining us on future tasks too.
Thanks for the hard work everyone, and for the great precedent we’ve set for the year!
